Doing a smidge of genealogy. A man born in Clerkenwell and employed as a Coast Guard Official marries a girl from Ropsley and goes off to Northumberland and has a stack of children with two wives. A son from the first marriage is a sea captain and marries a woman from South Shields. The 1891 Census finds the wife widowed with children living in Lincoln. Also living there is her deceased husbands half brother - two years later she marries him and they have three more children. Of course the marriage was illegal in both canon and civil law. I ask you, who needs tele?. Real life is far more interesting.
