Doing good and being perceived as doing good. Where do we draw - TopicsExpress

Doing good and being perceived as doing good. Where do we draw the line? Who draws the line? Is it the society that decides as a mass, or an individual? Modern day society dynamics shout out that more than majority of the people living in our society, their choices, their decision, are influenced by the society itself on a drastic scale. This phenomenon causes words out of our vocabulary to fade away, the word that faded away the most is passion. Next comes Individuality. The fear of being seen as the odd one out drives us into the mainstream, being what others want you to be, suppressing your inner voices, your dreams, your passion, your very self, every step of the way. Then one fine day you are so deep in the swamp, that no one can hear you scream. You are so deep in the swamp, you are one of them now, its hard to distinguish sludge from sludge in a swamp, but a Lotus stands out, it stays on the top. This incapable and monotonous definition of being successful, that making money, having a family, having a stable job, makes you happy and successful, this being fed to us from the very day we understand our respective language(s), what of what you want to be? What if you want to be the Lotus? Society has successfully dilated our thought process, every definition. The line is lost. Let alone someone to draw it.
