Doing my stretches in an open space on the train carriage. Nosey young woman asks me why, I say Im trying to stay in shape, because I have a bleeding disorder. She screws up her nose, asks me what that means, I say my blood doesnt clot properly. She says she doesnt understand. I say well theres this stuff in our blood called coagulant, I have a lot less than most people. Its called Haemophilia. She says really? I say yeah. She looks to be the only person on the train Ive seen whos younger than me. I ask her what she is doing on this train. She says she and her friend here are on their way to medical placements in Broken Hill. Before I can louse her about maybe sleeping through some of her haemotology lectures, her equally-naff friend chimes in, lets hope you dont get into medical trouble in Broken Hill, haha. Yeah, no shit.
