Doing some personal devotions this morning in Matthew and came - TopicsExpress

Doing some personal devotions this morning in Matthew and came across the word Raca again and remembered someone asking, why cant we use obscene as Christians? Matthew 5:22 is the only passage in the Bible where the term raca is used. Raca comes from the Aramaic term reqa. It was a derogatory expression meaning “empty-headed,” insinuating a person’s stupidity or inferiority. It was an offensive name used to show utter contempt for another person. Jesus warned that the use of such a word to describe someone was deserving of the severest punishment, “the fire of hell.” How many of us use words that are as offensive to others? Knowledge is the beginning of wisdom! Blessings guys!
