Doing some research about the UN and some of its charters since I - TopicsExpress

Doing some research about the UN and some of its charters since I read an article someone posted about its inception and purpose following the recent intensive, and I came across Chapter 7 Article 51, which states Nothing in the present Charter shall impair the inherent right of individual or collective self-defence if an armed attack occurs against a Member of the United Nations, until the Security Council has taken measures necessary to maintain international peace and security. Measures taken by Members in the exercise of this right of self-defence shall be immediately reported to the Security Council and shall not in any way affect the authority and responsibility of the Security Council under the present Charter to take at any time such action as it deems necessary in order to maintain or restore international peace and security. basically this is saying if a member of the UN is attacked they can employ any means necessary anywhere in the world to neutralize that threat.. This has been used many times to justify their actions in many conflicts around the world. Knowing that 9/11 was allowed to happen by the American Government (maybe even the UN) and witnessing the seeds of fear implanted into the group mind about terrorism and extremist muslims was the perfect concoction that has led to the current situations in the middle east and the unprecedented tactics that are being used.
