Duck Dunn playing bass guitar... a 1959 Fender precision bass. The root word of precision must be precise...that would be a great description of Duck Dunns playing...precise and in the groove! Duck Dunn died in 2012....still on the road with Steve Cropper. Steve and Duck were half of the great house band at Stax records, Booker T and The MGs. When you hear Sam Moore yell Play it Steve on the song Soul Man...he is talking to Steve Cropper...Duck was right beside him laying down the groove! Every song that came out of Stax Records was a clinic for other musicians...they always played with restraint and taste..what they chose to play always made the song better...they were never trying to draw attention to themselves....the song was the star.
