Doncaster Care UK strike Roger Hutt, one of the Care UK Doncaster strikers gives a personal update on recent events re the ongoing strike. We had accrued 34 days of strike action,which came to an end in May. During that time period,we went on an amazing journey of enlightenment,meeting so many wonderful people,who have the same outlook as ourselves,that essential services should never be offered to the wolves of the private sector,whos main objective,is profit before people,this mindset,is endemic of the corporate fraternity,Britain is losing its identity,and is becoming the 51st state of America. We had to re-group when our claim for failure to consult over tupe regulations was awarded to care uk,which had the knock on effect that if we tried to pursue a claim for unfair dismissal,this ruling meant we probably,would lose that claim also,I suppose when you can hire a qc on 10k a day,you undoubtedly have the upper hand. This briefly put us on the back foot,but we are Yorkshire folk and have a irrepressible resolve, We again re-balloted,and got the numbers to have a 2nd crack,at these charlatans,we have built up an impressive dossier of bad practise,by this cowboy company,and we will not stop until the contract,is taken off of them. We band of brothers and sisters know what we represent,the will of the people,who believe that the righteous will prevail,this job has been my lifes work,and I will simply not capitulate to bully boy tactics of the private sector,I have grown up with the people I care for,they are like my surrogate family,and will not allow them to be deemed as items,to be bought and sold for profit,. So once again we hit the road spreading the gospel of what we represent,we are joining other pockets of resistance,the Stafford hospital occupiers,the 999 march for the NHS,the Lambeth college strikers to name but a few,giving speeches at rallys all over the country. The groundswell of the people saying enough is enough is in the ascendancy,we can bring the corruption of this con-dem coalition government come crashing down,and maybe we can create a new order,were people not greed is the holy grail. Keep the faith Never surrender Rog.
