Done! I obviously had no idea what I was getting into when I signed up for this hike but we did it. Lots of pics to come. Couple highlights - scorpion in our tent first night. Didnt sign up for porter so I had to carry almost everything and was adoringly nicknamed "The white porter" by the guides. Second day was a 4000ft vertical hike. Took us 10hrs. 3rd day was another 10hrs but more horizontal. 4th day climbed the 50 step "Gringo Killer". Hike past a point where an american fell off the cliff 300m back in January. Someone in our group stepped on a hornet that apparently hunts tarantulas. A bus was hijacked in our area by gunmen....not our bus! Had coca leaves (In mass quantities is used to make cocaine) but we just put them in tea or coffee. Toilets were a hole in the ground. End of the hike we arrived in machupicchu after 4 days through the mountains to see people getting off the bus to take their tour. Wanted to give them a roundhouse to the back of the head. 42km or something like that and i got the tshirt to prove it. Time for bed.
