Donna shares Absolutely the proudest mummy on the planet my beautiful daughter has had her first book published today at the age of 15 years old!!. A fantastic achievement for any 15 year old but Katie is a true inspiration because, for those of you who dont know her, Katie has autism. Katie struggles to cope with the world around her and is happiest on planet Katie Speaking to even those she is familiar with can be a challenge for her but through her art and stories she can express herself freely. It is a testament to the wonderful staff at her school (Greenacre special school in Barnsley)who they have nurtured and embraced Katies talent and been the driving force in getting Katies work published. This book, and Katie herself, are living proof that hurdles can be overcome, dreams can come true and the impossible become possible. I am not too proud to plead for my daughter and therefore ask that those of you who can purchase a copy of Katies book. At the minute it is available in digital form for kindles etc from Amazon UK. but hopefully by the end of next week we will have information about the possibility of hard copies being on sale.
