I Was Confronted By An Elder (Drunk Man) When I Was Unloading A Van Yesterday At Work... (I Was On Jobs Property, and Heard A Commotion Over By The Dumpster... It Was Dark, So i Peeked Around Open Van Door.... Never Said A Word But Heard Two Guys Laughing, and The Elder Yells Over To Me, Stop Being Nosey. (Ignant $h!T) So I Let My Mood Get the Best Of Me... I Responded That I Was On Property, At Work, And Justified To Do What I Was Doing.... And That If The Police Came, Hed Be The One Struggling To Validate His Presence At Our Company Dumpster.... I Mentioned My Looking To See What He Was Doing For My Own Safety... Anywhooo.... We Bicker Back And Forth, Cuss Words, And All... He Quickly Steps To The Sidewalk, and Dares Me To Step To Him.... (Bugs Bunny Line In the Sand Sh!T.....) So I Yell To Him That If I Came Over To Him, He Would Really Wish I Didnt... I Just Wasnt In the Mood For His Attitude... Nor He Mine.... Then Something Amazing Happened.... He Demands I Respect Him Being An Elder, and Everything Switches Up.... He Apologizes, Tells Me Hes Had A Bad Day, Lot On His Mind, We Embrace, (He Adds That He Was About To Pull Out On Me-Street Term For Drawing On Me).... I Apologize For Disrespecting Him, We Both Thank God, and Share How The Whole Thing Was An Unnecessary Miscommunication.... Ive Never Had Anything Like that Happen To Me.... It Was One of the Most Unique Life Lessons Ive Had To Date.... Hindsight, My Life Could Have Ended In Moments of Misunderstanding In An Alley, Because of My Mouth, My Otherwise Blessed Day, Rumbling With A Man Who Could Have Been My Uncle By Age.... Bottom Line, Im Thankful God Intervened Between Both Of Our Hearts In the Blink Of An Eye... I Doubt He Had A Gun, But Thank God It Wasnt Enough Going On To Use It... My Momma Doesnt Need To Bury Her Son... And Her Son Doesnt Need To Accidently Bury Someone Elses Kinfolk Either!!!
