Dont Mess with Brown I Love the reaction of tough guys when - TopicsExpress

Dont Mess with Brown I Love the reaction of tough guys when they see an average sized brown guy giving it back to them. So Im heading home from work wearing business casual attire with a sports coat hanging from my left arm and looking like a typical Oak Tree desi. While walking down the left hand side of the uber-long escalators at World Trade Center to get to the PATH, a young kid, as is often times the case, is standing on the left side and thereby blocking the hurrying commuters trying to catch the train. I say to his father ,excuse me, in which case most civilized human beings would grab their kid and pull them to the right side allowing those in a hurry to continue down. Of course this tough guy doesnt do that , instead he barely opens up a small space in the middle so I can pass through, while yelling at me saying next time you wanna run, use the stairs and not the escalators to which I abruptly, forcefully and to his shock reply No. You Guys need to stand on the right side! And to which he then replies nah I can do whatever I want and starts using profanity! I once again forcefully jawed back, while standing next to him NO. You gotta stand on the right side. This is New York City. We stand on the right hand side on escalators. Welcome to New York City! Realizing the validity of my statement and how stupid he looked in front of the gawking commuters he mumbles a few things under his breath and looks away. I, in my new found toughness, continue to the train while walking in a salman khan-esque way. While waiting inside the train for the doors to close, a sense of pride jolts me. I realize the importance of what I have just accomplished. Could I be the pioneer of the brown/desi guy toughness? Was this an inflection point in desi guy history? Will desi guys in the future look back to this incident and credit their inner confidence to me? Probably not but its still cool to think about it. Of course my thoughts didnt just stop there. I fantasized about this dude being in the same train cart as me and wishing to continue the beef. He jaws at me. I jaw back. He takes a swing but I successfully duck and counteract with a vicious uppercut. He drops to the floor like a domino and starts to profusely apologize. Silence and Awe penetrate the train cart. All the commuters move back towards the walls of the train, opening up space to reexamine what just took place save for two fellow Brown guys who come close to me, and alternative between staring at me bad and my casualty - all in bewilderment. They then stare at each other and start to slow clap. The rest of the train hesitantly but in momentum starts to do the same. I hear various phrases thrown at me like youre my hero , thank you for making me believe this was possible. I even catch an unmistakably Sri Lankan man shed a tear. My two cohorts, Raj and Kamran, lift me up in celebration... OK, this fantasy is getting out of hand but yall get my point. Never be afraid to give it back to anyone or else theyll continue bullying the next brown/desi/Asian/small guy!
