Dont be misled; Bad companions corrupt good habits. There Paul makes it clear that it is easy to be misled in regard to companions. A person may think he is strong enough to withstand the influences of another, while gradually his own standards erode almost imperceptibly. He is misled. Another may reason, Ill spend time with an evildoer to help him, but ends up more influenced than influencing. He too is misled. Since is it easy to be misled, an association ought not be maintained unless one plainly influences another for good. And, even in those cases where the influence for good is dominant, the value of the association will be proportional to the rate and extent that the befriended person is direct to Christ. --Jay E.
