Dont believe everything you see neither in the mainstream or - TopicsExpress

Dont believe everything you see neither in the mainstream or social media without searching for the sources and purpose behind. KONY 2012 is a great example of that and when I searched for facts and the founder of the KONY 2012 campaign it lead me to this excellent article by Semhar Araia the Executive Director at DAWN - Diaspora African Womens Network. Use critical thinking and at least have some kind of scientific approach by questioning what you find before sharing. It is not always easy I know and especially when we see pictures of children and dead people on the different pages. But then you really need to be sure about that it is not manipulated pictures or created by one of the sides to get an opinion for something. I know how mainstream media is working and learned it alreay when I was 17 years old and was used for an article in one of the biggest Swedish Newspapers. They are fabricating the news and control opinions through polls etc. Lobbying is common and most of the big corporations and their associations, political, religious and extemists know how to manipulate opinions. If you feel fear or sadness over something you see ask yourself in whose interest it is to spread it and if you want to do check with someone you trust first but do at least an own research first and questioning the pics and texts. Always check the source before sharing!
