Dont expect marriage to provide you with all the happiness you need. Rather, you need to be happy *before* marriage. In the sense that, you need to have visions, goals, ambitions and aspirations You need to have things you want to seek out to accomplish. You need to be happy as a person, as a slave of Allah. Then, when you enter a marriage with a spouse with similar aspirations, you both can work together to achieve these goals, to seek the pleasure of Allah - thats when youll feel true happiness. When you both strive together for His sake, not for the sake of *filling* each others void which can only be filled with the love of Allah, but to strive together to attain it.
