Dont forget go to a local farm/orchard soon. October will be here before you know it! Heres my opinion on the local choices, please chime in if you have been anywhere recently. Fishers Orchard - My family went to Fishers several years ago for their weekly Fall Festival on Saturdays. Our kids were little and it was perfect for back then. The cost is just $4 and then that included a hay ride, pumpkin, feeding animals, and mini maze (just hay bales). Open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Denver Downs Farm - We just went to Denver Downs Farm this past weekend for the first time. They were advertising with KAG and I wanted to check it out personally. It was so much fun that we will definitely be going back again. There are around 25 activities for the kids to do (a giant jumping bag, a barn with haybales stacked to the ceiling, corn pits, tot play area, etc.). The corn maze had a map and the hay rides were run so efficiently that you hardly had to wait. I would highly recommend a visit. The price is $14/person on the weekends which is higher, but you could easily spend the whole day (bring a picnic to save money on concessions) and everything but food & pumpkins was included in the price. My kids had a blast! (Note: The pumpkins this year are not planted in the patch to give the ground a rest in that area). Stewart Farms - We went to Stewart Farms last year using a Groupon Deal. They offer the basics: corn maze, hay rides, pumpkin patch, and animals. Its free to go in to the pumpkin patch, but you have to pay separate for the hay ride ($3) and maze ($7). Kids 6 and under can get into the maze free. Its nice for someone wanting just to visit for the maze/hay ride and not wanting tons of other activities. They also have a fun Halloween maze themed event on Friday nights called the Big Boo. Sky Top - I just went to Sky Top this past week. The apple cider donuts and view are worth the trip alone. Bring cash as the store does not accept credit though an ATM is on site. You can pick your own apples, buy apples, play on a playground filled with play houses and there are hayrides on the weekend. The weekdays are not crowded at all but expect to fight a huge crowd on weekends. I have not been to Nivens (yet) or Mini Miracles Farm (I think its similar to Fishers in size). If you have been to any of these farms, I would love to have your opinions in the comments to help others!
