RED THREADS is an exhibition that offers powerful sense of community and works by seven talented and dedicated artists. The exhibition will run from January 2015 through March 2015 and benefits The Never Alone Foundation, a Colorado Springs-based organization that helps adopting families defray expenses incurred in the adoption process. The Aperçu Soirée will be held on Saturday, January 10th from 5:30 to 9:30pm. Admission to the Aperçu Soirée is free, the art is sensational, food bites tasty, and the wine/craft beer/cocktail menu a delight to explore! RED THREAD BACKSTORY An invisible red thread connect those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but it can never break. - Ancient Chinese Legend. I sit and take a deep breath. Staring down and my hands hovering over the keyboard as my paint-stained fingertips hesitate as if they know to take a moment and recognize a dream is turning to reality. Around my left wrist is a red thread that wraps five times to represent my family, my guys. It is always bittersweet to see this crimson red, but it grounds me in what is important, and I often imagine it wrapping up my entire arm thinking of all of the people who are and always will be a part of my red thread. - Catherine Giglio. ARTISTS INCLUDED The exhibition offers the beautiful, soulful works of Jenny Kruckeberg (fine art photography), Wendy Reis (mixed media), Lori DiPasquale (encaustic), Jeanne Steiner (weaver), Gabriella Christians (fine art clay), Summer Kircher (collage) and Catherine Giglio (painter). There will also be a collaborative piece, Connect that was created by the group that will be up for auction throughout the full exhibition. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of Connect will go to the Never Alone Foundation.
