Dont let BAD news of one overshadow the GOOD of so many!! MEMPHIS, December 30, 2014- On December 24, 2014 at approximately 1:30am, officers responded to TJ Mulligan’s at 2821 Houston Levee Road concerning a fight involving several males. Upon arriving on the scene, officers located three male victims who advised that while inside of TJ Mulligan’s they were involved in a verbal altercation with three male suspects. All parties involved reportedly left the business when the verbal altercation turned into a fight in the parking lot. After the assault occurred the suspects fled the scene in a black Ford Taurus. A witness was able to get a tag number and provided the information to the officers on the scene. After further investigation, investigators found that the responsible parties were 36-year-old Craig Brewer (off-duty MPD Officer), 35-year-old Johannes Vosloo and 33-year-old Charles Williams. Brewer and Vosloo have been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and 2 counts of Simple Assault. An arrest warrant has been issued for Williams for Aggravated Assault and 2 counts of Simple Assault. “I will not tolerate behavior such as this from one of my officers. MPD Officers, as a whole, work hard to maintain a positive image and professionalism both on and off duty. We will not let this officer’s bad decision of getting involved with this type of behavior ruin all the good things that MPD is working towards,” said Director Toney Armstrong. Officer Brewer has been relieved of duty and is currently on non-enforcement status. He has been employed with MPD since October of 2010 and is assigned to Mt. Moriah Station. “I assure you he will be held accountable for his actions both legally and administratively,” Director Armstrong said. This is an ongoing investigation.
