Dont normally share my personal life on fb but something happened to me today that I felt I had to share. I had a very scary experience when the meal I was cooking in the microwave turned into my worst nightmare. Some element in my microwave burnt out and it resulted in my kitchen being so filled with smoke that I couldnt see a thing! I only found the socket to unplug it due to another socket having a light next to it. The smoke quickly filled the rest of my flat until I found it difficult to breath. I had my wee dog and my sisters dog in the living room and the flat soon filled up with choking smoke everywhere! I was in such a panic that I couldnt find my phone. Luckily the girl upstairs come down and phoned the fire brigade for me. I got the dogs out and opened all of the windows. The fire service were brilliant and arrived within minutes. I guess I just wanted to share this to make everyone aware of the potential hazards with all electrical equipment. I certainly will never go out leaving on a dishwasher or washing machine again! Or any other electrical equipment for that matter. The fireman told me to shut all of my doors at night and make sure my tv etc are all unplugged. I will certainly be following all of their advice following my scare today!
