Dont question why healthy food is so expensive, question why junk food is so cheap... @nutritionsnob In a developed country like the US, one might assume a healthy diet should be easily accessible and affordable. Unfortunately most of our nations cheap food is coming from BIG agriculture companies (monsanto) and large factory farms. With obesity and type II diabetes at an all time high, the correlation between poor health and the percentage of household income spent on food sheds some light on the root of the issue....healthy food might not seem so expensive IF we take into consideration the effects from cheap food to our physical and mental health. Sure we may buy cheap food now, but the true cost will show up in our medical bills.
