Dont say goodbye....say Ill see you soon. This makes me wonder, do we think differently about our parents? I hear when people talk of their dad, that they think of the things they taught them but when they talk about their mom, its about the love that she showed (or didnt show.) I also noticed the difference in how genders look at the role of their parents. Sure theres no one standard, but gender bias even shows up in our grieving and understanding of what that parent meant to us.
