Dont see why it requires debate. Just make it a national holiday. Its already a holiday day in BC, and most provinces provide days in lieu for govt employees, plus if they arent already required to grant a couple hours for employees to attend, they usually allow them to attend Remembrance Day ceremonies or activities. Even without working for the Ont Govt or the Feds, my private sector employers never made it an issue for me to attend....well, thats not true, one employer did...but I went anyway, and my NEW employer never gave me a problem.
