Dont talk because you have a mouth but because you have something to say. Your character is judged by what you say, scriptures say even a fool is considered wise when their lips are sealed and therefore when you speak people will judge you by what you say. Scriptures say in James 5:19, Understand this my beloved brethren, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to take offense and get angry. For anger does not promote the righteousness God( requires and wishes). What you say and how you say it speak volumes about the speaker than the said. Our Lord Jesus warned us sternly that by our words we can be justified and acquitted, and by our words we be condemned and sentenced. Proverbs 21: 23, He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from troubles. In Proverbs 17:27, 28, he who has knowledge spares his words, and a man of understanding has a cool spirit. Even a fool when he holds his peace is considered wise, when he closed his lips he is esteemed a man of understanding. Knowledge is not displayed by our ability to articulate our opinions but keeping our opinions to ourselves and that is the highest degree of maturity.
