Dont tell those close to you to change. They likely wont want to hear it and it will cause stress for the both of you. Instead lead by example and demonstrate the benefits of the change you are seeking for them to make. Do it with a smile and hold true to your morals, but make it unobtrusive. This manner is much more likely to affect positive change and keep you happy. Actions will do the bulk of the work but some conversation may still be needed. Focus the conversation on your personal experiences and how your life has improved and try to keep it realistic but positive. Few people want to be brought down so instead raise them up by being a part of your positive journey of life.
