Don’t Be Mad at Jonathan Gruber for Telling the Truth Be mad - TopicsExpress

Don’t Be Mad at Jonathan Gruber for Telling the Truth Be mad at him for when he told it. For those of you who don’t know who Jonathan Gruber is, he is the single most influential designer of the law known as Obamacare. In the videos that will be posted below (only about 50 seconds each) you can listen for yourself as he speaks in front of a class at MIT and another business community meeting. He and the White House will soon start classifying his remarks as “off-the-cuff.” When you give a public speech or teach a class, the information to be delivered is very much planned. This man was paid upwards of $400,000 to write this law as he himself calls it “in a tortured way,” so as to intentionally deceive the American public about how the economics of the law work. He then goes on to tell you that this allowed the bill to pass thanks to “the stupidity of the American voter.” As Nancy Pelosi famously quipped, “we have to pass it to find out what’s in it.” And the sheep voluntarily followed the wolves. Of course, Gruber is somewhat correct in his assessment that the American public by in large, do not have a very good understanding of economic principles. If more Americans better understood some basic economic concepts we would not have: the income tax, social security, Medicare, Medicaid, minimum wages, the Federal Reserve…basically anything that the government is doing that could otherwise be done by a private business is an economic misunderstanding. There is a reason for that. The reason is that Socialism is easily disguised and easy to sell… “We’re gonna take just a little bit of your money and just a little bit of money from some other people, to do some really good things for all the people.” Well gosh…I’m sold. The tough lesson for Gruber in the implementation of a more aggressive form of Socialism is that Americans may not understand the law as you explain it to them. But they understand out-of-pocket costs. They understand trying to find a new doctor. Gruber’s mistake is simply that he thought Americans would be too stupid to understand the negative effects of the law when it is applied to them in the land of reality. https://youtube/watch?v=G790p0LcgbI https://youtube/watch?v=8Hcu1S2GKf0
