And we had all the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic we wanted.” – Bamidbar (Numbers) 11, 5. ** After the children of Israel were taken out of slavery in Egypt, after all the stories of miracles and escape from the Egyptians, once again the people complained: ‘It was actually much better in Egypt, where we were given free food. We are going to die in the desert, so let us go back (!) to Egypt’. ** The nation was afraid. Fear suddenly took the place of responsibility and independence.
