Don’t be fooled by the calorie counts on packages, menus, etc. Dieting is more complicated than just looking at numbers. It also depends on HOW you look at those numbers. In other words, your perception matters. When a study group was given a nutritional composition milkshake, and told it only had 140 calories, the hunger hormone (ghrelin) didn’t lower as much in subjects who were told that their milkshake had 380 calories. This “tiny” perception issue makes a difference between controlling your hunger later on and looking around for something to eat because you “still feel hungry.” – Fitness Journal, July-August 2014.
