Don’t be scared to upgrade! My thoughts on this matter. I’m - TopicsExpress

Don’t be scared to upgrade! My thoughts on this matter. I’m currently using a MacBook Pro 15’ on Yosemite with a quad core and 16GB RAM. (Results may differ from computer to computer) I advise you (If your computer is outdated.) to get a new laptop. If not you will have a rough time from now and in the future to run any software, because as technology advances the more headroom developers have to mess with. When VDJ8 was first released it did have some flaws, but over time after numerous people submitting bugs the software has matured and is a lot more stable. I even concur that its EVEN MORE stable than 7.4! (On my Mac that is.) The software is a complete rewrite and it was much needed, because the sound engine and other things inside version 7 was really outdated. PLUS I bet you there is a lot more developers now than there was when the older engine was created. I think everybody should be posting any bug they find in the bug forums so they can make it the best software out there. HECK people should do it with ANY software out on the market. I had more issues with 7 than 8 and I want to break down the issues 7 had compared to 8. 1. With 7 video mixing was extremely laggy for me and if not I had crashes with it. Sometimes it even slowed my Mac down that it was unusable. Now with 8 the issues are completely gone. It all works like it should and perfect at best. 2. With 7 overtime I closed the application down it would freeze and crash no matter what I tried to do to prevent it. With 8 it closes nicely without any problems. 3. When I streamed to any type of shoutcast service on 7 my whole system will slow down and sometimes during my live sessions it would crash. Version 8 completely solves this and is working flawless. 4. No need to have a dedicated computer to run VDJ (That’s if your specs are good enough.), because the new engine uses up less CPU and RAM than the previous. I could now run Logic, Facebook, a couple chat programs, and a flash video without causing harm to my mixing. 5. PC to PC streaming in 7 was garbage. It never worked for me and when people tried to connect to me it would crash the program or freeze it that I had to force quit it. Version 8 solves this issue completely. These are just a few things and there’s a lot more features that 8 has that 7 does not. So please… There is no need to be afraid any more when upgrading to 8. It’s pretty much stable now and works almost flawless. Like I was saying before, If you find any issues make sure you reported in the bug forums so the problem gets fixed.
