Don’t underestimate an unarmed person. What’s the - TopicsExpress

Don’t underestimate an unarmed person. What’s the definition of “Unarmed”? It may mean “without a weapon”, but a weapon can be the user’s own body part. Experience with Karate (and with Anatomy Physiology and Trauma Care & CPR as well as Basic Physics) reveals that an unarmed person can be as deadly as a person who has a gun. In Physics the equation of mass times velocity squared a relatively light object can be very destructive at higher velocities. The weight of a fist is not much, but if that fist has a stiff arm behind it and a heavy body behind that moving in unison in the same forward direction there can be a lot of weight behind the force. Shock can be absorbed by body parts in that chain that act like springs, so if those springs could be kept out of the chain there could be more solid force delivered to the target. A joint may act as a spring and prevent the full force from being used at its full potential. If the target is a face there could be some shock absorption from the flexibility of the neck. A bullet weighs very little, but one second from the time it is fired the bullet will be almost a mile away from it’s origin, so velocity makes it deliver more force and cause massive internal bruising. A bone weighs more than a bullet but moves more slowly, but with trained coordination of movements the force delivered can be as traumatic as a bullet if less springy targets are selected. A so called “unarmed” person of little size and strength can be very dangerous. The very young and the very old can be lethal if much thought has been put into preparation. https://youtube/watch?v=EKYs5ep1dQ0
