To answer your question, we are being blindsided by Western Imperialism to fall into line with Americas congressional/industrial/military complex. The current conservative (like republican) prime minister is trafficking fear - Islam; and coal against alternatives - very limited worldview and upsetting a huge number of people here in Australia. It feels like Australia is being used as a test bed for draconian anti -freedom laws that will be imposed further in other democratic (so called) countries. Just yesterday, the attorney general George Brandis introduced a whole raft of anti-terrorism laws that are considered to be the most restrictive in the democratic world for no other reason than domestic political agenda, in the face of the signing of the Transpacific Partnership Pact. It seems the current gov has no regard for the rule of democracy or the environment. To quote the pm climate change is a load of crap. Coming from me, this is obviously a very greenie point of view where many disagree because they are frightened. But many of us are not buying into the fear at all. X
