Double Wins Again Cricket News Saturday, 15 June 2013 It was a run fest today as the senior teams continued their excellent league form. The first XI maintained their 5 point lead at the top of the table with victory over a stubborn Flowery Field who scored 205 for 8 chasing our boys 266 for 8 with captain Mike Berry posting a useful 76 at quicker than a run a ball. The first team are now 9 for 9. The second XI laid down a marker for tomorrows cup game by blasting 282 for the loss of just 4 wickets (Gareth Senior 105, Jamie Williams 54 & Luke Melling 55) and then bowling out Flowery Field for just 143. It was great to see the two sides were made up of mainly youngsters with Flowery Field playing three real young uns but West had 8 players under 20 too. West 2s maintain their second place in the league on the shoulder of Glossop CC. The two second teams meet again tomorrow at Flowery Field in the cup and there will be changes to both teams so we hope our supporters will come along and cheer on the lads..
