Doublets done, doublets done, doublets done! (to the tune of the football chant of Eng a land, Eng a land, Eng a land...)(Much happy dancing as well). I stabbed myself twice with the awl when I was doing the lacing holes. Found the lozenge patterned cream coloured fabric for the surcote. (Much moaning from me, as it would make a womans surcote too....but sacrifices must be made. I have to share my store of fabric with my husband. SHARE FABRIC. I need a lie down and a cup of tea). Also in the same bag as the cream fabric was a length of black cotton velvet which will make another doublet (or perhaps a surcote??? There might just be enough for both.) We need at least three sets of garb for August and Raglan Ffair (10 days in August....its the Drachenwald answer to Pennsic). The idea of giving my husband cream coloured anything for clothing is about as silly as giving ME something cream coloured. Its going to be stained the minute he looks at it. But it will be STUNNING. Now Ive got to find a bit of fur for the trim.
