Doug and I got our 2015 health insurance bill in the mail. It went up again - to $1,690 a MONTH. And that’s for a very high deductible plan! The letter accompanying the bill explained that our plan was “grandfathered” and therefore not regulated by the Affordable Health Care Act. So, yesterday I went to see an insurance agent to check out our options. Found a plan that IS regulated by the AHCA. No subsidies, just a regulated plan. It is $600 less a month and has a lower deductible. Thank you to everyone who worked to make the AHCA possible. The good men and women in Congress who voted for it, President Obama who signed it, and all the volunteers who worked so hard to get those folks in office so that they could do this. I REALLY appreciate it – and keep the good work up. Elections matter!!
