Downhill cycling or better known as DH is slowly but surely picking up in this part of the world, South East Asia. Recently, at Bukit Tengah, Klungkung, Bali, Indonesia, we witnessed the annual event, Asia Pacific DownHill Challenge, 2014, organised by United Bikes from the 08th -09th November. The event, brought big names in the DH sporting industry, like Wyn Masters, brother and sister team, Mike and Traci Hannah, Remy Thirion, the Coastal Crew and many more riders from Australia, New Zealand, the EU as far out as Russia and not forgetting the local riders from South East Asia and Indonesia namely. The atmosphere at Bukit Tengah, Klungkung was electrifying and was a carnival like!! Parked under the mention Adventure Sport, part of the discipline requires, going over jumps, going off 8 - 10feet drops and also riding through trails which most often are off camber. Falling off bicycles are part and parcel of this discipline but it is the determination, the dedication and the will to do best and succeed that makes this sport an interesting event. The oneness with nature comes as a bonus. Here are some photos of a DH riders enthusiasm in achieving his/her goal...
