Dozens of Palestinians were killed and many of the bodies could not yet be recovered or identified. Today, the IDF has concluded that Lt. Goldin was in fact killed in combat in Gaza on Friday and now unconfirmed reports are emerging that he may have died as a result of the Israeli shelling of the area. Following the alleged capture of an Israeli soldier, Lt. Hadar Goldin, in Rafah on Friday, Israeli forces subjected the area to what the UN has called the heaviest shelling and fighting recorded since the start of the emergency. Dozens of Palestinians were killed and many of the bodies could not yet be recovered or identified. Today, the IDF has concluded that Lt. Goldin was in fact killed in combat in Gaza on Friday and now unconfirmed reports are emerging that he may have died as a result of the Israeli shelling of the area.
