Dr. Alfredo Galvez: I received this question on my message board... Regarding the study that recently came out of the Univ. of Illinois, the article said this.."The scientists said that consuming the equivalent of 20 to 30 mg/kg of lunasin in soy foods would be daunting in terms of number of servings per day. “But it would certainly be possible if food companies began to offer lunasin-enriched soy milk or yogurt,” she said, noting that lunasin-enriched flour is already on the market." Our LunaRich X contain 125mg of bioactive lunasin...appears we can easily consume the 20 to 30mg. Am I thinking correctly about this?? Here is my response... Based on the Univ. of Ill. study, the anti-metastasis lunasin dose of 20-30 mg/kg body weight translates to the daily consumption of 1200-1800 mg purified lunasin for an individual weighing 60 kg. We are going to address this question of dosing using our proprietary Lunasin bioassay by determining the amount of bioactive lunasin (amount of lunasin that remains bioactive even after digestion) found in the purified lunasin soy extract used in the UI experiments . We developed LRX and standardized the LRX dose based on the amount of lunasin bioactivity after digestion, not the absolute amounts of lunasin which was used in dosing the UI study, because purified lunasin gets inactivated and loses bioacitivity when digested.
