Dr. Andrew Weil is one of the most trusted names in medicine. He is an advocate of natural herbs and the power of nutrition in healing the body - an unusual mindset for allopathic medical doctors. From Wikipedia: Andrew Thomas Weil (/waɪl/; born June 8, 1942) is an American medical doctor, naturopath, and a teacher and writer on holistic health. He is founder, professor, and director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. He received his medical degree, and an undergraduate degree in biology, from Harvard University. Weil is widely known for establishing the field of integrative medicine, which aims to combine alternative and conventional medicine. Weil suggests that patients take the Western medicine prescribed to them by doctors and then incorporate alternative therapies, such as omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, herbal remedies, meditation, and other “spiritual” strategies, into their treatment plans. However, some mainstream medical professionals, however, have criticized Weil for rejecting aspects of evidence-based medicine and promoting unverified beliefs. Whats so funny to me is all facts start with unverified beliefs before they are verified. The pasteurization of dairy products, development of penicillin, the airplane, that the earth was round vs. flat - all unverified beliefs at one point and scoffed at. I prefer people with vision that see outside the box and have that Third Eye thing working. Thats Weil. Ive been a subscriber to his newsletter off and on since the 1990s. I never trusted this new fish tilapia, and after reading this and an article in the NY Times about farm raised fish (tilapia in particular), I gave it up. Read and make a decision for yourself. drweil/drw/u/QAA400472/Avoid-Tilapia.html
