Dr. Behnam asked me to post this here as well...... 2 hours of my life I wont get back. Patient had a PFM on 47 ( lower right 2nd molar). Implant is so long, done many years ago in Russia. It had a set screw on the lingual which I could not unscrew so I tried to drill it out...no luck.... Turns out that the abutment and crown were cemented together so I had to drill it down to a point where an ultrasonic handpiece got it out. Didnt damage the fixture ( thank god cuz I never would have been able to remove it) and used the hard tissue laser to expose the shoulder to see that it was an internal hex. None of my healing caps would fit so my good friend who is a lab man is looking to see what he could find for me. The implant was something like a Stemlok or something like that. I didnt like putting VPS with periacryl for the short term in the site. So my question is what would you put in for a temporary healing abutment. I try now to find parts to rebuild the tooth. I apologize for any errors I committed in this case but it was a tough one for me. I just temporarily put a MO in 48 ( third molar) until we decide what we are going to do with the 47. Yes the 46 is questionable but for now my concern is the 47 and 48. Thanks in advance.....
