Dr. C.L. Bland, June 30, 1919 - January 28, 2014 Charles Lorenzo Bland, M.D. retired, age 95 of Leitchfield, KY died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at his residence. Dr. Bland was a Hardin County native and the widower of Ruby Adams Bland. He practiced General Medicine in Grayson and surrounding counties for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1984. He was an officer of the Army Medical Corp and served four years prior to moving to Grayson County in 1948 to practice. Survivors include his wife Kay Stanton of Leitchfield; Three sons, Charles L. Bland III of Calvert City, KY, David F. Bland (Ellen Stone) of Fisherville, KY and Jeffery A. Bland of Lexington, KY; Three step-sons, Clark Stanton, Mark Stanton (Jacque) of Leitchfield, KY and Stephen Stanton of Louisville, KY. A step-granddaughter, Margalo Stanton as well as several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded by an infant daughter, Judith Ellen Bland. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon CST, Friday, (January 31, 2014) at the Sonora Cemetery in Sonora, KY. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield, KY.
