Dr. C. Ronald White, Sr., age 72, of St. Petersburg, passed away peacefully, March 5, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, after an unexpected illness, surrounded by his family. He was born July 20, 1941 in Ottawa, Ohio. Ron received his bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University, and his medical degree from The Ohio State University. He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at MacDill AFB. Prior to his retirement from active practice in 1999, Ron practiced for 25 years in Pinellas and Manatee Counties and held numerous positions including Consulting Physician for the Tampa Bay Rays. In retirement, he founded Doc-2-Doc, a medical staff recruitment and placement company. Ron was also a Supreme Court of Florida Family Mediator. Ron was a sports enthusiast and a long-time season ticket holder for the Buckeyes, Gators, Rays, Bulls, and Buccaneers. He was also an avid sports memorabilia and stamp collector. Prior to his passing, he was working on his first novel. Ron was a lifetime member of the American Philatelic Society, the St. Petersburg Stamp Club, SAE Fraternity, Suncoast Tiger Bay Club, several local medical societies, as well as a former Lions Club and downtown Rotary member. He most recently spent his time volunteering with the VA. Ron enjoyed traveling, attending sporting events, dining out, cigars, watching and coaching his sons’ and grandchildren’s youth sports teams, and spending time with his family, friends and colleagues. He is survived by his wife, Patti of St. Petersburg; three sons, Steve (Coleen) of Seminole, Charles Ronald, Jr. of Largo, Brian (Carrie, and children Tucker and Elizabeth) of Orlando; three step-sons, Sean (Tisch, and children Chase and Tristin), Jason (Stacey, and children Owen and Cole), and Ty (Andrea) all of St. Petersburg; and aunt, Rose Williams of Ottawa, OH; as well as extended family and friends in St. Petersburg, FL and Ottawa, OH. Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Rita; aunts and uncles. Ron lived and enjoyed his life to its fullest, and as he would say “I’m just driving the car.” A memorial service is a being planned for a later date.
