Dr Chandhana Jayawardhana (Chandi) has worked in South Asia, the Middle East, Europe, South America, the Caribbean & North America & held accountability for budgets of $30 million, teams of 700 employees & 3,300 students. As an international hotelier he has served 34 heads of state/government. He is the only non-European elected as the President of the worlds largest professional body for hospitality managers - Institute of Hospitality, UK (HCIMA) since its inception in 1938. Dr Chandi has been a university/college professor and an associate dean. He has published 18 books/journal issues and over 100 articles. Dr Chandi has done consulting projects for : * European Union - developing an MSc degree * USAID - leading a restructuring project of a national institute * Caribbean Tourism Organization – identifying HR issues in Caribbean tourism * Amazon Corporate Treaty Organization – initiating a conference for 8 South American countries * Government of Guyana - opening a hotel for the Rio Summit 2007 * Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority - establishing tourism industry HR needs * Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management - leading a quality audit * Centennial College, Canada - developing a new degree * Red River College, Canada - feasibility for a new degree * Galle Face Hotel, Sri Lanka - advising the Chairman * Rocco Forte Hotels, UK - MSc * Sandals Resorts, Jamaica - MSc * Sandy Lane Hotel, Barbados - MSc * Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association - MSc * Barbados Hotel & Tourism Association - MSc.
