Dr. Fola Akinosun was born on the 1st of October 1968 into the family of Cheif Williams Akinosun and Mrs. Jadesola Akinosun of Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State. He attended the Army Day Children School, Mion Barracks, Yaba, Lagos State for his primary education and Lagelu Grammar School, Ibadan for his WAEC ordinary level result. After his secondary school education, he went to the prestigious Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, where he obtained an array of intimidating qualifications and proficiencies. These includes: Bachelor of Science in Public Administration Master of Science Degree in Public Administration Master Degree in Business Administration Dr. Fola Akinosun is a member of the following professional bodies: Fellow of Chartered Institute of Commerce of Nigeria Fellow of the Institute of Data Processing management of Nigeria Fellow of the Insitute of Cost Management Accountants of Nigeria Dr. Akinosun started work as a Clerical Officer in the of the North, Dugbe Branch, Ibadan, from which position he rose to be the Accountant in charge of Banking Operations in 1996. He worked in this capacity at the Community Banking Industry until 1998. In 1999, he rose to the position he held till year 2002. In the year 2000, Dr. Fola Akinosun established the Community Mobilization for Development (CMD), a Microfinance Non-governmental organization. Dr. Fola Akinosun delves in education and he established the following institutions: Center for Professional Studies and Distance Learning College of Health Technology, Ile-Ife Foreign Links College of Education, Moro, Ife-North, Osun State. Deltas University College, Ghana Central University, Republic of Gambia Proposed Fola Akinosun Polytechnic, Ibadan, Oyo State. Dr. Fola Akinosun is the holder of the following Chieftaincies, Honours and Accolades: The Agbaakin of Iroko Land inn Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State The Apesin of Iware Ife Land The Babalaje of Olosa-Oko, Ibadan Land Leadership Awards of Osun State UP-Date and Media Award of Excellence by Counseling Association of Nigeria Meritious Service Award from Ibadan Club, 2005 Distinguished Citizens Awards approved by the Ooni of Ile-Ife and presented by Oba (Dr) Abidoye Oyeniyi, the Olumoro of Moro Land Award of Excellence: Best Education Visioner by Searchlight Merit Foundation Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Merit Award by BCOS, Ibadan Distinguihsed Visioner by the National Assosiation of Pharmaceutical Technicians (NAPTS) Distinguished Fellows Award by the Ife Business school, Nigeria Best performances Award in Educational Investment by Nigerian Universities Engineering Student Association Distinguished Citizens Award by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes on nomination by the Olubadan of Ibadan Land Nigerian Association of Technologist in Engineering: Fellow of the Association. Justice of Peace. State of Osun Nigeria. Dr Fola Akinosun is a man given to generosity and Philanthropy. In this wise, he has single- handedly seen several hundreds of undergraduates and over 1000 Polytechnics and Colleges of Education students financially through school. In 2010, he awarded scholarships to 300 students. In 2011, he increased the scholarships to 800 beneficiaries; while in 2012 it was 1000 that enjoyed the schorlaships. This he promised to increase to the maximum point of 5000 beneficiaries yearly. Apart from this, he has empowered 1,500 women financially by bankrolling their vocational education and providing them with interest free loan and financial advice ocer the years. In spite of the taxing public life and the tight schedule of Dr. Fola Akinosun, he still creates the time for his family. In fact, he is a quintessence of what a family man should be. Dr. Fola Akinosun is happily married to Mrs. Fola Akinosun, and the union is blessed with lovely male and female children. They all live ahppily together.
