Dr Ganz, the nephrologist, was in a few minutes ago. Ralph got dehydrated again yesterday. It is such a balancing act with him right now. Too much fluid, and he will once again have Congestive Heart Failure. Not enough, and he is dehydrated. Yesterday, his kidney functions were better, so they pulled the IV fluid and started him back on Lasix again. They are going to restart the IV fluid again today, and take the Lasix back away from him. His kidney functions decreased again from where they were yesterday morning after hydrating him the night before. Dr Ganz is also going to look at all of the meds that Ralph takes to see if one of them, could possibly be causing him to sleep all of the time. If it is possibly the heart that is just deteriorating to the point, that he is just going to be sleeping the majority of the time, then they will have to try and figure out what to do, to keep him from getting so dehydrated when we go home.
