Dr. Jekyll & Hyde. In keeping with our Gothic theme, in this case Victorian Gothic here is indeed a classic not only of that genre but of horror in general as well as sci-fi. Like Frankenstein this novel, novella really, combines science with horror as well as psychology. A new science in the 1880s. Sure everyone knows the story here even if you have not read the book. Though I hope many have. A very important novel in many ways and one that has had a strong impact on our culture. Even those who know little of the novel use the phrase Jeykyll & Hyde to describe people with changing moods. There have been several proper film versions as well as many that simply used the theme. So any thoughts?? Good? Just ok? Favorite film versions?
