Dr. Kalish on the five most common symptoms of adrenal - TopicsExpress

Dr. Kalish on the five most common symptoms of adrenal fatigue—any of these seem familiar to you? I have my “big five,” as I call it, because one time we did this analysis of a whole year’s worth of patients, and we realized that everyone was coming in with one of these five problems. It’s not like I made this up; this is patient-driven. So, fat. Cortisol, unfortunately, when it’s abnormal, encourages you to store up body fat, especially in and around the abdominal organs, which is unsightly. So, body fat or overweight. Fatigue, when people are tired, which can, as you know, oftentimes lead to thyroid conditions, and sometimes people have both. So fat, fatigue, depressed. And with depressed, I would put anxiety/depression, they’re kind of wired or tired. And not a kind of depression like suicidal depression or a mental health problem, but just a physical exhaustion type of depression. People just don’t feel like going out after work anymore. They’re just exhausted and depressed, or anxious. Fat, fatigued, depressed, female hormones. Female hormone problems almost always accompany adrenal problems. That could be anything from infertility, hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings. And then digestive problems, because of the secretory IgA problem. So fat, fatigue, depressed, female hormones, and digestive problems. Those big five we find almost always have an adrenal component.” The rest of his presentation is live today on the Autoimmune Summit, along with four other talks on natural solutions to autoimmune disease--to access, sign up for free here: autoimmune-paleo/autoimmunesummit
