Dr. Karl Menningers statement on abuse of power “Worse even than ingratitude are those searing and abusive political and administrative moves that disregard and traumatize the sentiment, the self-respect, the pride and the hopes of little people., underlings, and faithful workers in a system. Often it is brashness and inconsiderateness of the action even more than the act itself….structural moves in government and industrial organizations-transfers, replacements, dismissals, cancellations, urban renewals and removals and other reorganizations that interrupt old life patterns and satisfactions small and great. To injure someone’s self respect, his pride, his status among friends and equals may be to quietly kill him. No crime. But sin, I say.” -Dr. Karl Menninger, “What ever became of sin?” page 146 Hawthorne Books © 1973
