Dr. Kutter is a local veterinarian known for his wry humor. His best was on a summer day when a real city dog was brought to him after a close encounter with a porcupine. After an hour of prying, pulling cutting and stitching he gave the poor thing back to its owners in the lobby. She asked how much she owed him and he said just $40. Upon hearing that she went off on him about Maine people always ripping off tourists and "what do you do in the winter when we are not here??" He said quietly, " personally I raise porcupines..."
