Dr Lee Brown has been adopted into the Tsleil weautiuth community and has been a supporter of indigenous people for many years. He has done work for TWN and many communities in BC. He is going to lose his position by the end of the year. BROTHERS and SISTERS! There is a great injustice happening at UBC! There are changes happening that are taking control away from aboriginal people at UBC. Indigenous control of research is being removed, and our spiritual teacher, mentor Uncle & Brother Dr Lee Brown is being removed from his position as director of Aboriginal health. By the end of the year the entire aboriginal health institute will be shut down. We need to hold UBC accountable for their role as knowledge holders and gate keepers for knowledge for indigenous people.
