Dr Majak Agot pleaded not guilty, accuses the government of ruling with impunity. JUBA - The third accused member of group of four on trial for a failed coup attempt on the government of Salva Kiir Mayardit, Dr Majak DAgot has today pleaded not guilty to charges labeled against him by the prosecution. Agot, in an heated exchange of words with the prosecutor instead blame the crisis on the wrong polices the government imposed since early last year. The prosecutor read out charges against Agot which included: Attempt to make calls to greater Bor soldiers inside the Tiger presidential guards to stage a revolt, arrangements to become Dr Riek Machars Vice President if the coup succeeded and attempt to persuade greater Bor officials to abandon the government before December 15, 2013 and to hold an heated press conference unauthorised. Dr Got strongly denied the charges and instead accused the government of protecting a one man show. My lord, I have denied all the charges labelled against me by this prosecutor. I didnt do any of those he described. I denied these in the strongest terms possible. They are all fabrications and should be dismissed. After this cases are through, South Sudan will never be the same again. What we fought for seemed to have gone. No one in my calibre can do this. I believe the country is being ruled with impunity. I denied this and I would like to plead not guilty. - an highly irritated Agot argued. Agot is the third among the four detainees accused of overthrowing the government. The other three are Oyai Deng Ajak who testified two weeks ago, Former party secretary Pagan Amum Okiech who testified last Friday and Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth who is yet to testify. Both Ajak and Okiech pleaded not guilty to all the charges labelled against them.
