Dr. Martin L. King Jr. : Ive come upon something that disturbs me deeply, he said. We have fought hard and long for integration, as I believe we should have, and I know that we will win. But Ive come to believe were integrating into a burning house. Im afraid that America may be losing whatever little moral vision it had. Its moral sense has run away from the nation. And a nation that is Not governed by morality and moral principles is a nation heading for an abyss. And I think black people have been struggling to get into a system that the final analysis is a Sodom and Gomorrah. It will not work because of its selfish goals. Its need for PROFIT, its need for SUPREMACY, its need to be the best has clouded its moral vision.
