Dr. Marty Becker Some citizens in Arlington, Texas, reported a pit bull following them. Sgt. Gary Carter of the Arlington Police Department responded, and immediately saw the dog was friendly -- VERY friendly, in fact! So he loaded him into his air-conditioned patrol car, gave him a much-needed drink, and then his department got to work finding this nice dogs lost family. Because the dog, whose name is Jeffery, was microchipped, they were quickly reunited. “It makes me feel good that I’ve had that kind of a positive response,” said Carter. “Maybe people can realize that first of all, not all big dogs are dangerous and second of all, not all police officers are out to shoot big dogs. Because we’re not.” Thank you, Sgt. Carter and the Arlington PD for doing the right thing!
